A group of six international companies, including Google Inc. of the U.S., is building a $300 million underwater fiber-optic cable linking the United States and Japan. The 6,200-mile trans-Pacific broadband cable system called Unity will respond to the expected growth in data and Internet traffic between Asia and the U.S., the companies said in a statement Monday. A signing ceremony was held Feb. 23, they said. Besides U.S. Internet search company Google Inc., the Unity consortium includes Bharti Airtel Ltd., India’s leading integrated telecom services provider, and Japanese telecommunications company KDDI Corp.
The others are Malaysian Internet company Global Transit; Pacnet, a telecom company headquartered in Hong Kong and Singapore; and SingTel, a leading Asian communications and mobile company. NEC Corp. and Tyco Telecommunications are suppliers for the project, set to be up and running in the first quarter of 2010. Construction begins immediately, according to the consortium. The cable is expected to initially increase trans-Pacific fiber-optic capacity by about 20 percent, with the potential to add additional bandwidth, the companies said. It will connect Chikura, near Tokyo, with Los Angeles and other U.S. West Coast points, and the system will connect to other Asian cable systems via Chikura, they said. First time group ‘kaboom’ were first to attempt the DVDRip of this one, failing miserably with an almost instant nuke (no.ivtc_bad.crop_ghosting). I hope the remainder of their career is more successful. Larceny, who are also newcomers, bring us the PROPER very shortly afterwards.
Synopsis: Based on the popular Playstation 2 game, HITMAN chronicles the frame-up and retribution-packed odyssey of Number 47 (Timothy Olyphant), a bald assassin raised from birth to be a killer and tattooed with a barcode on the back of his head. There’s lots of BOURNE SUPREMACY-style flash-edits and superhuman stunt work as 47 seeks to find out why moderate Russian presidential nominee Belicoff (Ulrich Thomsen) was the client for his own assassination, a hit that 47 pulled off perfectly, except for one hitch: the target’s still alive. For romantic interest we have Olga Kurylenko as a foxy Russian prostitute sold into slavery by the evil Belicoff. She and 47 wind up on the lam together but they’ll never be safe as long as Belicoff is still alive.

PUKKA is back with what appears to be a very good Drama film. Samples and quality update will follow.
Synopsis: Though he’s spent most of his career as a character actor in supporting roles, Frank Langella gives the lead performance of a lifetime in STARTING OUT IN THE EVENING, based on the novel by Brian Morton. Flanked by Lili Taylor and Lauren Ambrose, Langella is the central piece in a film that focuses on its characters. The film begins with aging writer Leonard Schiller (Langella, SUPERMAN RETURNS), a man who feels as obsolete as the typewriter he is pounding away at. First off, the title of this movie is actually “Hero Wanted”. It surprises me that a movie starring such capable actors as Cuba Gooding Jr. and Ray Liotta star in a movie that doesn’t have an official page or any ratings on IMDB or RT. Judging by the trailer, you can expect a fair amount of action. Quality of the release is pretty sharp. I did notice one property message but it doesn’t look like it’s plaguing the whole movie. Check samples.
Synopsis: Liam Case (Cuba Gooding Jr.) is a garbage collector — and a hero. Several years ago he rescued a little girl from a flaming car wreck at great risk to his own life, and earned a hideous scar for his efforts. But fame can come and go in fifteen minutes, and his past deeds are now mostly forgotten. Lost and alone, Liam has turned to alcohol for solace. But when Liam finds himself in the middle of an armed bank robbery, he takes a bullet trying to protect a beautiful bank teller. Although this movie doesn’t really need the 720p treatment, you now have the option to get it at that quality thanks to group REFiNED.
