<em2HD has released a HDTV rip of the latest episode of Fear Itself. Billed as a fun-filled ride of terror, Fear Itself is an anthology series of mini-horror movies. Each episode will deliver a different story of suspense and thrills. This has proved so far to be a very interesting show, and this weeks episode is staring James Roday of Psych, so I can’t wait to watch it.

FoV have released a HDTV cap of this great new show Swingtown. It’s set in the 70s and explores the changes in the sexual liberation brought to households, including open marriages and “key parties”. During this era, Susan (Molly Parker) and Bruce Miller (Jack Davenport) move to a Chicago suburb where they are faced with an ever-changing social setting, noted in clothing, music, and overall attitudes.

Susan invites the Deckers to join the Millers’ in a two bedroom cabin when the Thompsons back out of the annual trip. The foursome get a shock when Janet and Roger make a last minute appearance, just as things were getting cozy. Meanwhile, Laurie invites Doug over for a dinner while her parents are away, and BJ, Samantha and Rick break in to the Deckers home and go swimming.

A not really well-known scene group PARTiCLE released a dvdrip of a rather cheap horror with a really bad name “Death on Demand”. I guess you can’t really expect a good movie when most of the cast play for the first time. This 1 CD release offers a standard quality, mp3 audio and Spanish subtitles.

Wealthy college student Richard Sachs arranges a web broadcast contest originating from a local haunted house. He entices three young couples to spend Halloween night in the abandoned dwelling by offering $5,000 in prize money. The last owner of the house was deranged killer Sean McIntyre, who murdered his entire family 20 years prior on Thanksgiving Day before hanging himself. McIntyre was an amateur mountain climber who used his grappling hook to gruesome effect during his murder spree; we learn that his descent into madness began when he killed what he believed was a Yeti on a trek up the Himalayas. “Richard has mini-video cameras situated throughout the McIntyre house to capture the happenings for his Internet broadcast,” O’Hara continues.

Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates was set Friday for his last day of full-time work at Microsoft - the company he founded 33 years ago on a hunch that personal computers would become an integral part of everyday life. The world’s largest software company said that it was not planning any public events to observe the transition, though the change would be marked by internal events. Gates, 52, will continue to hold the title of non-executive chairman and work about one day a week at Microsoft. He intends to devote the rest of his time to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the wealthiest charity in the world, which is aimed at improving healthcare around the world and reducing extreme poverty. Founded with the vast fortune he made as Microsoft prospered, the foundation has an endowment of some 38.7 billion dollars with billions more expected to roll in as Gates transfers his massive personal wealth. Legendary investor Warren Buffet, currently the world’s richest man, has also pledged to transfer the vast majority of his wealth to the foundation.

Gates handed over his role as Microsoft chief executive to his long-time partner Steve Ballmer in 2000, when Gates became the company’s chief software architect. Under a carefully planned succession programme, Gate’s duties will be taken over by two top Microsoft executives. Ray Ozzie will be in charge of day-to-day management issues, while Craig Mundie will be in charge of long-term planning. The company, whose Windows operating system powers some 90 per cent of the world’s personal computers, has a market capitalization of about 260 billion dollars and employs more than 78,000 people in 103 countries. But even as its cash cow products of Windows and the Office productivity suite look set to continue their stellar earnings, Microsoft faces tough competition as Google’s online dominance threatens to cut into Microsoft’s core businesses.

Long time since my last post, but work has been a b**ch lately. Well, without a job you ain’t got bread on the table, unfortunately. Anyways, this movie seems interesting. Starring Aidan Quinn (known for various professional dramatic performances) and Meryl Streep, this movie has scored high on IMDB - but not that much on RT. Quality is pretty good, English subs included in non-English scenes. Enjoy.

Synopsis: The feature film debut of renowned opera and theater director Chen Shi-Zheng, DARK MATTER delves into the world of Liu Xing (Chinese for “Shooting Star”), a Chinese science student pursuing a Ph.D. in the U.S. in the early 1990s.
