Demonoid forcedly shut down by CRIA

It has been no longer than 6 weeks since our latest report about Demonoid, which scared thousands of its users. The site was taken offline by Canadian Recording Industry Association (CRIA) that time, although many people thought it has been just technical issues with Demonoid’s servers. As a result of this closure, this popular tracker had to block access to all Canadians - they were simply getting timeout messages in their attempts to contact the server.
Now, when everything looked safe and sound, the site is offline once again. CRIA sent a threatening letter to Demonoid’s hosting provider (Netelligent.ca), which resulted into shutting down the whole site. Demonoid’s tracker still works and ironically wasn’t affected by this latest issue, although it’s the essential part in the process of downloading content through BitTorrent. According to the official IRC channel of this popular site, Demonoid administrator is already working on returning everything back to normal. I wouldn’t wonder if they decided to move their servers to different country and hosting company though, the pressure on p2p applications in Canada is increasing every week…
