Also I created a shortcut of hl2.exe in the ep 2 folder and the Target is “C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\elite117217\half-life 2 episode two\hl2.exe” -steam -game ep2

What is wrong here?

I extracted from unl-ep2.rar (not .00 or w/e) the episode 2 folder, it’s directory is C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\elite117217\half-life 2 episode two

as for the .gcf files I put them with my other half life .gcf’s in C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps

I also tried the MountCacheManual = 405 and SteamAppsDir = .\ thingy in SteamEmu.ini

I still get MountAppFilesystem() failed:

What am I missing / doing wrong?

To fix the MOUNTAPP problem its very simple
extract since .rar files dont start with .00

when i try to start half life 2 episode 2, theres a pop up that says ” no permissions for hl2ep2″ any idea about what i should do about that?

hey guys … i ve gt half life ep2 2 dvds … i unpacked dem .its says…

(Create shortcut on hl2.exe and add these parameters: -steam -game ep2
It will look like: X:\somedir\portal\hl2.exe -steam -game ep2

Run the shortcut and have fun

now whn i try 2 do it . ist says ( Seup file ‘gameinfo.txt’ dosent exist in subdierctory ‘hl2′.
check your ~game paramater or VCONFIG settings )

but i have game info.txt file in ep2 folder.. ??? cant solve it maan!!! plz help

i cant even find these two files which u said to unpack, i downloaded hl2 ep2 from the steam store thing, and cant find any files.
i get the same error:

“engine error - No permission to run ep2″

So, if yoou wanna get thinks work unpack unl-ep2.rar not unl-ep2.r00

Then create shortcut on hl2.exe on desktop, right click on the hl2.exe>sent to>Desktop (create shortcut)

Then right click on the shortcut and Properties>Shortcut and you will see “Target”, change that to “C:\Program Files\half-life 2 episode two\hl2.exe” -steam -game ep2

Then run the Shortcut and Enjoy the game
