Back with some more Rock music for you. This time with the popular band R.E.M. R.E.M. is an American rock band formed in Athens, Georgia, in 1980 by Michael Stipe (lead vocals), Peter Buck (guitar), Mike Mills (bass guitar), and Bill Berry (drums and percussion). R.E.M. was one of the first popular alternative rock bands, and gained early attention due to Buck’s ringing, appreciated guitar style and Stipe’s unclear vocals. Njoy!

Work commenced in early 2007, and the album title was revealed by the band in an issue of Q Magazine. Unlike R.E.M.’s three previous studio albums, which all featured Pat McCarthy on production duties, Accelerate was produced by Jacknife Lee. The album is also noticeably shorter than recent efforts; it is the first R.E.M. album to have a running time of less than 50 minutes since 1994’s Monster and it is the shortest LP recorded by R.E.M. in their career, overcoming Reckoning (1984). The whole album was leaked into the Internet on 15 March 2008.
