The Santa Monica Ferris Wheel has just gotten a high-tech makeover. It was upgraded with 160,000 LEDs — powered by solar panels — at a cost of $1.5-million. Video after the break. Click here for first picture in gallery.
Thanks to solar panels that soak up energy during the day to power the wheel, those extravagant light shows have a minuscule carbon footprint.
